Warner Brothers Cancels More 'Dark Knight Rises' Premieres in Wake of Shooting

Warner Bros. Pictures has decided to cancel premieres for The Dark Knight Rises in both Mexico and Japan in light of the shooting in Colorado yesterday, according to the Associated Press. They previously canceled the Paris premiere, and announced yesterday that they would not report box office earnings out of respect for the victims.

“Out of respect for the victims and their families, Warner Bros. Pictures will not be reporting box office numbers for The Dark Knight Rises throughout the weekend. Box office numbers will be released on Monday," a studio statement read.

The studio will continue with screenings for special guests and promotion winners because they do not want to disappoint fans.
Mourners gathered yesterday in Aurora, Colo., in recognition of the reported 12 people killed and 58 injured at the theater when a gunman police have identified as 24-year-old James Holmes opened fire.
