No awards show would be complete without the obligatory bleep of an expletive. Brooke Shields fell victim to a number of blunders last night at the 2011 Tony Awards. Not only did she flub her lines twice while helping Neil Patrick Harris with the opening, but the actress also slipped up while presenting, letting out a curse word that had to bleeped!
When it was Brooke's turn to duet NPH out with the opening number, she flubbed her lines twice before exclaiming “I don’t know what I’m doing!” and reading the words from a note card.
And from then on, Brooke couldn't catch a break.
Later in the live broadcast, the 46-year-old actress tried to explain her previous blunder but slipped again.
“I can do eight performances a week, but I can't read a teleprompter," she said while on stage to present Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role. "I thought they'd edit it. Then I realized: ‘Oh, bleep. It’s live.’ ”
