When Rob Lowe and Sofia Vergara started announcing the nominees for "Outstanding Lead Actress," Amy Poehler's name was called first and the actress walked up onto the stage to wait to hear the winner to the shock of audience.
Melissa, Martha Plimpton, Edie Falco, Tina Fey and Laura Linney joined Amy after their names were called and held hands as though they were at a Miss America pageant waiting to be crowned.
The audience went wild with applause and Rob said (via Radar Online), "I just wanna say, girls, everyone is a winner and I know you're gonna serve this body with distinction."
Melissa was crowned (literally) the Emmy winner for her role on Mike & Molly. The 41-year-old actress took the microphone and said, "Holy smokes! Wow, it’s my first and best pageant ever."
