On Friday, Paul appeared on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and shared what it felt like to be eliminated from American Idol.
"I woke up yesterday and I was like, 'You know, I think this is about time for me to cruise out,' " Paul told Jay Leno. "I've had a good run. I felt like I did what I needed to do but for some reason I felt like, 'Tonight's the night.'"
