It was a match made in country music heaven last night when Scotty McCreery joined legend Tim McGraw on stage to perform "Live Like You Were Dying." The newly crowned American Idol winner looked comfortable and confident on stage with his personal idol.

It's no doubt that Scotty's country career will launch when he hits Nashville, and seeing him perform in Tim's company showed America what his future performances could look like.

"Tim McGraw, he was like my country dad for rehearsals and stuff, he really was. All the advice he was giving me, it was crazy," Scotty told reporters backstage, via Zap2it. "Picking his brain and getting the wisdom that he has, it was a a really special moment for me."
