Wayne Newton gave dancing a shot, but now he’s going back to what he does best — singing!

"I'll be doing some concert dates on the road in the next two or three weeks," the 65-year-old crooner explained to OK! following his elimination Tuesday night. "Then I open in Vegas on Nov. 7." The music legend also has a new CD coming out. "It’s a compilation of some of my favorite songs that I’ve recorded," he tells OK!. "I’ve gone and redone them because some of them are aging, so I decided to put a different twist on them.”

As for getting the boot from the hit ABC show, Wayne, who got voted off when his tango was more fizzle than sizzle, explains to OK! that, “It’s a bittersweet thing. I’m going to miss some incredibly talented and nice people. On the other hand, I’m looking forward to getting a good night’s sleep and a day off, spending some time with my wife and children. I’ve learned it’s not about winning or losing, it’s enjoying the trip along the way.”

Fellow dancer Mark Cuban tells OK! he’s sad to see the Vegas King go. “I got to be close to Wayne. Our daughters are about the same age and spend a lot of time together. He was the ear everybody turned to for some fatherly advice.”

And Spice Girl Mel B. said she plans to stay friends with Wayne. “He’s a legend. Me and my husband are going to go to Vegas, because he has a big zoo — penguins and horses and everything!”
