What Would the Countess Do?: Baring It All

When it comes to etiquette, manners and overall good behavior, even celebrities need help navigating the rough waters of stardom! It’s a good thing Countess LuAnn de Lesseps of the Real Housewives of New York is joining forces with OK! to school them on the right thing to do! In a rough situation, we just ask, “What Would the Countess Do?” This week she ponders nude photoshoots and Facebook age appropriateness.
Kim Kardashian bared it all in a recent W magazine photo shoot. What is your opinion on celebrities posing nude? Would you ever do it?
I have no problem with Kim Kardashian’s decision to post nude in W but it is a choice that I would not make for myself. I do wonder about the motivation behind Kim’s decision because surely there are better ways to generate a fan base than getting naked for the cameras? A more tasteful choice would be to commission an oil painting to hang in her home that preserves an image of her youthful self for a more private audience.

Have you seen The Social Network? Is it appropriate for people of all ages to be on Facebook?
I loved the movie The Social Network and it didn’t change my perception of Facebook’s usefulness as a social networking tool. I feel that children need to be mature enough to judge what is appropriate to post before parents allow them to join Facebook. I think the film’s popularity with younger viewers versus older viewers may lie in the movie stars chosen to play the lead roles as well as the fact that Mark Zuckerberg is now a 26 year-old billionaire, which is the equivalent of a modern day fairy tale.
Tip: Be careful what you share on Facebook. You never know who’s watching.
