What Would the Countess Do?: Scandalous Photo Shoots; Crossover Careers

When it comes to etiquette, manners and overall good behavior, even celebrities need help navigating the rough waters of stardom! It’s a good thing Countess LuAnn de Lesseps of the Real Housewives of New York is joining forces with OK! to school them on the right thing to do! In a rough situation, we just ask, “What Would the Countess Do?” This week Luann discusses age-appropriate photo shoots and attempting crossovers in your career.
If adult actors are playing high school students on TV, do they have to be careful of how their image is portrayed in the media? Do you find it inappropriate that the girls in the Glee shoot were in their underwear and Cory Monteith was fully clothed?
The actors in the Glee GQ shoot are all in their mid-twenties and are old enough to pose suggestively if they choose. That doesn’t mean that the shoot was tasteful or that they used good judgment when agreeing to pose in their underwear for a national magazine. The fact that Cory Monteith was fully clothed shows that he has better sense than his co-stars. The shoot was a satirical portrayal of scantily clad girls in music videos and should be looked at as such. As for parent organizations not being happy, it is a parent’s responsibility to monitor what their children read and watch.

Gwyneth Paltrow is moving from being an actress (and web site entrepreneur!) to singing in "Country Strong." Any tips on re-branding yourself across multiple entertainment outlets?
Gwyneth Paltrow is expressing her love for music by singing in “Country Strong” and I commend her for believing in herself and her talents. Doing what makes you happy and being adventurous greatly increases your chance of success. I can relate to Gwyneth because I’ve always loved singing. When my music producer, Chris Young, approached me to record my first single," Money Can’t Buy You Class," I jumped at the opportunity. I’m now working on my next release, "Chic Ce Le Vie," for Ultra Records, which is truly a dream come true for me! It’s smart to diversify your career while living your dreams.
Tip: Being interested is what makes you interesting.
