Is it old-fashioned for a woman to take a husband's last name these days?

WHAT WOULD THE COUNTESS DO?: TAKING A NEW NAME; KEEPING THE PARTY PEACE

How do you keep two friends who don't get along from causing a scene at your party if you're the hostess?

Gracious guests never air their differences at a party! If you are having a small gathering where all the guests interact, invite one or the other person. If the party is large, you can invite both but tell them ahead of time to leave their drama with the coats at the door. Ultimately, you can't control how your guests will behave at your party but if your friends respect you, they will keep their conflict to themselves so that your guests can relax and enjoy your hospitality.

Tip: Praise publicly and criticize privately.
