Whirlwind Week
Sept. 8 2008, Published 11:03 a.m. ET
I’ve been in NYC a week tomorrow and have no idea where the time’s gone. Well, I do, and I anticipated the whirlwind – yet I also intended to document it for you daily and, well, getting six rather than five hours sleep/night won out. I apologize. As I often promise, I’ll be better.
I’ll probably write on the plane and expand, but since I’ve been back in the city I have:
-Watched Serena Williams play Venus Williams at the US Open followed by Nadal and Marty Fish.
-Attended a cocktail party in an airport hangar with Sir Richard Branson and the Entourage boys.
-Had an exclusive backstage pass to Fashion Rocks and minute-to-minute (or so) updates and chatted with everyone from Fergie to Terrance Howard.
-Had exclusive backstage access to Charlotte Ronson’s runway show where her bro Mark Ronson deejayed, her sister Annabelle Dexter Jones sashayed down the catwalk, and her mom sat front row next to sister Samantha Ronson Sand her gal pal Lindsay Lohan.

-I went to a party at the Bowery Hotel hosted by Intermix and Blackberry Curve and saw Lipstick’s Robert Buckley and realized in-person he’s really, really hot.
-Did a drive-by 1OAK but ultimately decided against making my way through the throngs of people in hopes that someone would see me and let me in – despite hearing that Justin Timberlake and Kate Hudson were both inside.
-Got soaked by a tropical storm walking to the Kira Plastinina store in Soho to interview Gossip Girl Leighton Meester.
-Hung out the guys from 30 Rock at Katrina Bowden’s 20th Birthday party at The Yard at the Soho Grand Hotel.
-Oh, and I also got in a run around the reservoir in Central Park ;)
-Today I’m trying to compress everything + VMA coverage and the adventures of the OK! girls up in Toronto for the Toronto Film Festival, and fit it into the After Dark pages for next issue. It’s quite the challenge, so much to say, so little room to say it! Hope you had a good week ;) xo
