Whoopi Goldberg Says She May Reach Out to Mel Gibson

Whoopi Goldberg may be very vocal about Mel Gibson and his recent troubles on The View, but tells OK! she may reach out to him in person, too.

Whoopi may talk about him on The View, but has she gotten in touch with Mel?

"I have not," Whoopi tells OK! at the Gray Line New York ceremony honoring Whoopi in NYC on Monday.

But she has been very vocal about her support of him and says that's her opinion.

"In my world, experience trumps assumption," she explained to OK!. "My experience is what my experience is, and other people can assume what they want and make their own judgments, but my opinion is my opinion."

"But no," Whoopi adds. "I’m sure he’s taking care of what he needs to take care of."

And as for whether she has any intention of reaching out to him? Only time will tell.

"We’ll see," Whoopi tells OK!.
