Italian police have launched a full investigation after the body of a woman whose throat was slashed was found near George Clooney’s lakeside home in Italy over the weekend.
A passer-by spotted the body as he strolled on a beach close to George's multi-million dollar villa in Laglio, a small town on the shore of Lake Como, Britain's Daily Star reports.
“I saw her floating in the water out in the lake, close to a buoy and not far from George Clooney’s house,” onlooker Giovanni Cetti told the Daily Star.

The woman was said to be between the ages of 25 and 30 and has not been identified at this point.
However, police said last night they believe she may have been a high-class escort.
She was reportedly said to be attractive and “well kept," with painted fingernails and dyed brown hair.

She was wearing a T-shirt, black underwear, and had a dolphin tattooed on her left breast. She reportedly looked to have undergone breast surgery.

Italian officers say she may have been killed in Switzerland, 40 miles away, and dumped in one of the many rivers that flow into the lake.
"There is a strong wind blowing towards the south and we believe the body was dumped up lake and taken down close to the home of George Clooney,” a police spokesperson told the Daily Mail.
George spends a lot of time in his Lake Como home with Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis.
