While promoting his latest film Vicky Cristina Barcelona, seasoned filmmaker Woody Allen shared his thoughts on the media, the paparazzi and how he's dealt with living a private life in the public eye.
In an interview with Extra, Allen, 72, says, "It's not a natural thing for a human being to get out of the car and be photographed a thousand times and hear your name screamed. It's very unnerving but I do it. I do it because I have a commitment to the movie and the producer."
Allen, who's been in showbusiness for over 40 years, has a habit of using the same actress in several of his films. His most recent muse is the newly engaged Scarlett Johansson who stars alongside Penelope Cruz in Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
"She's great. It's obvious," Allen exclaims. "She's beautiful. She's talented. She's gifted."
As for Scarlett's view of Woody, the 23-year-old actress says, "I've always been a huge fan of his! I grew up in New York. My parents waited in line for his film's opening night for an hour. I grew up watching his films. We've done three films together. It's a dream come true for me. We make each other laugh and have a good time."
