Former Scrubs star Zach Braff will become a salesman's assistant in The Wizard of Oz prequel, Oz: The Great and Powerful. He's joining a cast that's not too shabby! Co-stars include James Franco, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz and Mila Kunis.
According to Entertainment Weekly (via Huffington Post), Zach has officially signed on the dotted line for the movie which is expected to hit theaters in March 2013.
As for his role, Zach will play an under appreciated assistant to James' character, a trickster salesman. The salesman actually becomes the Wizard of Oz himself and gets into a fantastical journey with Michelle's character, Glinda the Good Witch.
Perhaps Zach is ditching TV comedy and focusing on the big screen instead? He was most recently seen in the indie drama, The High Cost of Living will star with Jessica Biel and Chloe Moretz in The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea.
