Average Rating: 4.7/5

Average Price (2-3 Bed): $3,210 - $7,520

Superlative: Awesome Specialty Moving

Why We Picked Adams Van Lines:

Adams Van Lines is one of our favorites, especially if you have a lot of expensive, fragile, or just plain bulky and hard-to-move items in your inventory. They’re experienced pros when it comes to premium moving. Whether you have pool tables, pianos, server racks, or anime figurines (we won’t judge), their moving teams know how to keep everything safe and secure. They also have flexible pricing depending on the season!

Services Offered:

  1. Loading and Hauling: Adams takes premium moving seriously. That’s why their teams go the extra mile during loading and hauling. Their moving teams have plenty of experience when it comes to those high-value items, and they’re ready to provide the extra TLC that your moving day deserves.
  2. Storage: Sometimes you need a bit of extra time, and sometimes you need a bit of extra flexibility. That’s where Adams Van Lines comes in clutch. They have plenty of secure storage options (from lockers to garage-sized units), and for a monthly fee, you’re getting tons of flexibility.
  3. Packing: Take our word for it - packing is going to be the hardest part of your move. Between all the bubble wrap, boxes, tape, and (of course) constantly running out of supplies, it’s a pretty rough way to waste a few weekends. Fortunately, you can have the pros at Adams Van Lines take care of it instead.
  4. Full Service Options: Adams Van Lines offers full service moving. This means they can handle every step of the moving process, and all you have to do is sit back and relax. Not only will they pack, load, and haul, but they can also make sure all of your belongings end up in the right place during the unloading and unpacking process. You’ll walk in the front door, and everything will already be situated.

Types of Moves Offered:

    1. Local Moving: You may just be moving down the block, but that doesn’t mean you should risk it with t-shirt padding and a bunch of newspaper. Adams Van Lines can offer their extra TLC for even the shortest of moves.
    2. Long Distance Moving: On the other hand, if you’re moving over 100 miles or across state lines, you’ll need a long distance moving team you can trust. With all their experience with premium moving, Adams is the team for you. They’ll keep your belongings safe and secure from the first mile to the last.
    3. Cross Country Moving: And of course, if they can handle long distance moving with care, they’ll bring the same level of TLC to your cross country relocations. Coast to coast, border to border, Adams can plan, prepare, and coordinate your cross country move.
    4. Corporate Moves: When you’re moving a business, you’ve got a million different things to focus on. Heck, you’ve got a million different things to keep track of WITHOUT a move thrown into the mix. Adams Van Lines knows this, so they’ll keep your corporate move as streamlined, efficient, and unobtrusive as possible.
    5. Military Relocations: Military relocations can happen at a moment’s notice. They may provide plenty of TLC, but that doesn’t mean Adams drags their feet. They can get help you with your temporary move or permanent change of station (PCS), and they’ll get it done quick.
  • Pros:

    1. Experienced and professional staff

    2. Wide range of services offered

    3. Flexible pricing options

    Cons:

    1. You’ll have to submit personal info before getting a quote

    How Much Does it Cost:

A long distance move with Adams Van Lines will cost you between $4,999 - $7,999. These prices reflect a 2-3 bedroom home, and an average distance of 1,250 miles. Keep in mind you may end up paying a little more if you have a bigger home and more miles to travel - but you may also pay less if you have a smaller home and you’re going a shorter distance.

For the most part, Adams Van Lines is available throughout all 50 states. We say “for the most part,” because some routes won’t get the full menu of services that Adams brings to the table.

Adams operates out of the Southeast. They’re based in Florida, and they can offer the broadest menu of services if you’re moving to or from the Sunshine State. Don’t let this turn you off from them if you’re somewhere else, though! Some of their routes are more popular than others, and if you’re in a major metropolitan area, chances are they can take care of your move with their trademark TLC.

    Customer Support and Communication:

Adams Van Lines offers excellent customer support, right from square one. Their reps aren’t focused on making money - they’re genuinely concerned with your concerns. When you call in for the first time, the team at Adams will answer all of your questions, and they’ll even ask several of their own. It’s all part of building a plan that’s tailored to your needs, and it’s an important step if a mover wants to proactively offer some helpful extras.

    Insurance and Claims Process:

Like most other long distance moving companies, Adams Van Lines offers a basic insurance plan. It’s nice to have in case of emergencies, but it’s only good for $0.60 per pound of damaged or missing items.

Fortunately, Adams Van Lines also offers full-value insurance coverage. It’s a much more substantial plan, and it means if anything is broken in transit, you’ll get the full monetary value in return. The only downsides? You’ll have to pay extra for it, and it’s not offered unless you pay for Adams to pack your stuff, too.

If you want greater peace of mind, you’ll have to treat yourself to full service packing. But hey, it’ll make life a lot easier!

Packing and Handling of Special Items:

Adams Van Lines is all about specialty moving, so they really know their way around those awkward and hard-to-move items. Pianos, pool tables, antiques, art… the list goes on, and their movers will come prepared.

Specialty moving requires a specialized skillset. Depending on the job, Adams can send a team to build a custom crate around your vintage motorcycle, rig a pulley to get your piano out the window, or wrap, double-wrap, and triple-wrap all of your anime figurines without laughing at you.

    Sustainability Practices:

Some moving companies are really green-forward, almost to the point of greenwashing. Adams isn’t one of those companies, but they do their own part to keep things sustainable. One of these important practices is bundling moves.

When you’re moving long distance, your stuff goes in a big semi trailer. But if your studio apartment doesn’t fill the whole truck, that means there’s a lot of empty space. This is bad for fuel efficiency, since it costs a lot of gas (and a lot of money) to move a whole lot of nothing.

Instead, Adams will use that empty space for smaller moves that are along your route. Don’t worry - they’ll keep everything separate and secure. It’s their way of moving greener and keeping costs down - for you, and for them.

    Moving Resources and Guides:

Adams has a pretty solid website. Not only do they have a relatively straightforward trip-planning utility, but they also offer a few helpful guides for city to city moving. They may not have pulled out all the stops to write articles and blogposts (looking at you, Moving APT), but there’s a lot worth reading on the Adams blog.

    Customer Reviews and Testimonials:

Adams Van Lines has a 3.9 out of 5 on Google reviews. As far as long distance movers are concerned, a 3.9 out of 5 is pretty damn solid. (You’ll find that when you shop around for movers, Google reviews can get really ugly, really quick.) Aside from Google, Adams has a 4.5 out of 5 on their own website, and that’s based on over 10,000 customer surveys.

Adams Van Lines’ customers have a lot of good things to say about their moving experiences. Check their website, and you’ll even see authentic video reviews to prove it. If you’re looking for a specialty mover that costs a fraction of the big name players, you can’t go wrong with Adams.
