Music lovers, rejoice! The 49th annual American Music Awards are taking place on Sunday, November 21.
Five-time AMA winner Cardi B — who is nominated for Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist, Favorite Music Video and Favorite Hip-Hop Song — will oversee the event, live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
The 29-year-old confessed she intends to host the fan-voted award show by being unapologetically herself. "There are going to be certain things that I read on the teleprompter, but I’m just going to freestyle it because I don’t like feeling like I’m talking like a robot," the "I Like It" rapper — who welcomed her second child with Offset in September — admitted to Variety. "I just want to be myself."
Meanwhile, Rodrigo leads the nominations with seven categories, following the success of her wildly popular debut album Sour, while The Weeknd comes in second with six nominations. The "Good 4 U" songstress — who is nominated for Artist of The Year — will certainly be having a night to remember, as she could break a record for most wins as a first-time nominee.
(Giveon, Kali Uchis, Saweetie and 24kGoldn are also first-time nominees alongside Rodrigo.)
Taylor Swift could also be taking home a major accolade, as she may break her own record tonight for most AMA wins of all time. The "All Too Well" musician currently holds 32 awards.
Of course, aside from the most prominent musical acts being celebrated, the hottest names in Hollywood will also use the night to show off their stylish sides.
