HEALTH'I'm Okay!': Barbara Eden, 95, Shares Update After Suddenly Dropping Out of Cinecon Appearance

Barbara Eden, 95, frightened fans after she pulled out of a scheduled Cinecon appearance at the last minute.
Thankfully, the I Dream of Jeannie actress quickly let the world know that she is "okay" and hadn't fallen prey to a "sudden illness" as previously stated.
Barbara Eden Reassured Fans About Her Health
Barbara Eden reassured fans that she's healthy.
"It’s okay everyone! I’m okay!" Eden wrote on X Sunday, September 6.
"Oh, my goodness there has been a bit of miscommunication. I’m not suffering from an illness; my doctor very recently prescribed a brand-new medication that turned out to have some nasty side effects. Due to the discomfort, my doctor ordered me to remain at home until it can be sorted out."
She continued, "What awful timing for this to happen! My deepest appreciation to everyone for the concern. This is just a speedbump! I expect to be out and about as soon as I’m given the go-ahead! Again, my love and thanks to everyone for all the concern."
There Was a Cinecon Miscommunication
Cinecon announced the last-minute dropout on Saturday.
The legendary actress was scheduled to appear at the Cinecon Classic Film Festival over the weekend, where she was going to receive the Cinecon Legacy Award.
In a September 5 Facebook post, the festival accidentally misrepresented Eden's absence.
"We're sorry to share that, due to a sudden illness, Barbara Eden will no longer be able to appear in person at Cinecon today," organizers wrote at the time. "Barbara is deeply regretful that she had to cancel at the last minute as she had been very much looking forward to seeing everyone and celebrating with us."
Thankfully, as the Flaming Star actress said, she didn't suddenly come down with a new illness but was just experiencing the side effects from a new medication.

Dolly Parton died in August.
Given Eden’s status as a beloved older star — and the unexpected death of 80-year-old Dolly Parton, who had previously indicated she was healthy — social media commenters immediately drew parallels to the "Jolene" singer’s death in August.
"That’s similar to what Dolly said a week before she passed. 😢," one person claimed on Instagram.
"This is what Dolly told us last year. 😢," said someone else.
"We can’t lose another pink angel at this point," added another.
"We’re all just a little sensitive right now, sorry…" said yet another fan.
Stars including Melissa Joan Hart and Nancy Sinatra also sent their well-wishes on social media.
Incidentally, Eden shared an emotional message on Instagram shortly after Parton's death.

Eden is best known for 'I Dream of Jeannie.'
Eden is best known for her fabulous run in I Dream of Jeannie between 1965 and 1970, as well as the TV show's 1991 movie adaptation I Still Dream of Jeannie.
She also starred in Flaming Star alongside Elvis Presley (1960), Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1961) and Ride the Wild Surf (1964), among many other acting credits.
