Some of the most memorable moments in entertainment happen onstage: the lights drop, the crowd erupts, and an artist steps in front of thousands of fans. But increasingly, what happens around those moments can be just as important. The photographs, backstage footage, tour videos and social content that travel across the world in seconds have become an essential part of how artists connect with their audiences.

That is the world Tijn den Hollander has built his career around.

A Dutch photographer, videographer and content producer, den Hollander is the owner of TDH Studios, a creative company specializing in music, live events and artist storytelling. His work has taken him around the world alongside leading names in electronic music, while his photography and video have helped translate the energy of live entertainment into content consumed by millions of people online.

Among the artists den Hollander has created content for are John Summit, Mau P and Max Styler, names that have become increasingly prominent within the global electronic music scene. His work has also been featured by some of the biggest festivals in dance music, including Tomorrowland, Ultra and EDC.

For den Hollander, however, the job involves considerably more than simply standing beside a stage with a camera.

His work spans tour content, press photography, campaign videos, festival media and social strategy, placing him at the intersection of entertainment and the rapidly evolving digital world. Artists today are not only musicians and performers; many are global brands with audiences following their lives and careers in real time. A performance might last an hour, but a photograph or video from that performance can reach millions more long after the artist has left the stage.

It is something den Hollander understood early in his career.

“I specialize in social media management and photo/video production,” den Hollander says. “I’ve helped clients generate over 100M+ YouTube views, working with esports organizations, individual talent, and sponsors.”

Before establishing himself within music, den Hollander developed his skills in another intensely digital industry: esports. That experience gave him the opportunity to work with organizations, talent and sponsors while learning how audiences interact with personalities online. His portfolio has included work involving NRG Esports and Team Liquid, alongside major consumer brands such as Coca-Cola, C&A, Uber Eats, McDonald’s and Levi’s.

But eventually, music became the clear direction for the next chapter of his career.

“In 2023, I left the Esports industry to spend all my talent and time in the music industry,” he says. “Since then I have worked for many industry leading artists and festivals around the world.”

That transition placed den Hollander inside an entertainment landscape undergoing a major transformation. Today’s artists are communicating with fans more directly than virtually any generation before them. Social platforms have turned backstage hallways, airports, hotel rooms, rehearsals and moments immediately before and after a performance into extensions of an artist’s public story.

For the people creating that content, the challenge is capturing something that feels authentic rather than manufactured.

It is one reason creators such as den Hollander have become increasingly important behind the scenes. When touring with an artist, a photographer or videographer is documenting more than a collection of performances. They are helping preserve a period in that artist’s career while simultaneously giving fans a perspective they otherwise would never experience.

And for performers such as John Summit, Mau P and Max Styler, whose careers exist within a highly visual global festival culture, that storytelling can travel far beyond the venue itself. A single night can become photographs, short-form videos, tour recaps, press imagery and social content reaching audiences across continents.

The scale of the stages involved only makes that responsibility greater. Festivals including Tomorrowland, Ultra and EDC have developed identities extending far beyond their physical locations. Through digital media, millions of people who never entered the festival gates can still experience pieces of those events.

Den Hollander’s career represents the creative infrastructure behind that phenomenon. Behind every celebrity photograph, viral tour clip or unforgettable festival moment is someone deciding how that story should be captured. For den Hollander, that position is increasingly where he belongs: just outside the spotlight, documenting the artists standing inside it.
