Claudia Schiffer stepped out in Paris for a deeply somber occasion, making a rare public appearance to pay her respects to longtime Dior PR executive Mathilde Favier.
On Monday, August 31, the legendary supermodel was photographed arriving at the funeral in a classic black look. Rather than one of her glamorous fashion-week ensembles, Schiffer opted for a more traditional outfit suited to the emotional occasion.

The 55-year-old model wore a long-sleeved black dress with a high neckline and softly gathered skirt. She finished the look with black tights, pointed-toe heels and a small quilted handbag featuring a chain strap.
Schiffer kept her jewelry and other accessories to a minimum, letting the understated outfit speak for itself. She also wore dark sunglasses as she walked through the streets of Paris.
Her signature blonde hair was left loose, with the wind catching the long strands as she made her way to Eglise Saint-Sulpice, where the funeral was held.
Mathilde Favier Dies in Tragic Car Accident

Favier, 57, and her partner, Nicolas Altmayer, 61, were killed in a car accident in France on Monday, August 17.
According to French outlet Le Monde, the couple's vehicle “collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction while they were overtaking another vehicle,” per Niort deputy prosecutor Nicolas Leclainche.
Favier had been part of the Dior family since 2011, working closely with some of the fashion house's biggest ambassadors and clients, including Natalie Portman, Rihanna and Jennifer Lawrence.
She was also a mother of two. Favier shared daughter Héloïse, 28, and son Carlo, 25, with her former husband, billionaire finance executive Robert Agostinelli.
Favier’s Son Shares Emotional Tribute
Mathilde Favier and her partner, Nicolas Altmayer, died in a car accident in France on August 17.
Carlo remembered his mother in a heartfelt Instagram post on August 18, sharing several photos of the two of them together.
He opened his lengthy caption with, “My heart aches and my brain is foggy. None of this makes sense, and I struggle to understand how any of it ever will.”

'An Exceptional Woman'
Mathilde Favier worked at Dior from 2011 and collaborated with stars including Natalie Portman, Rihanna and Jennifer Lawrence.
Dior also confirmed Favier's death in an Instagram post on Tuesday, August 18, honoring her years of dedication to the fashion house.
“Dior is deeply saddened to announce the accidental death of Mathilde Favier. In her role as Director of Public Relations, Mathilde Favier made an incredible contribution to the reputation of Christian Dior Couture through her commitment and elegance,” the brand penned.
The statement continued, “She was an exceptional woman whose communicative joy, talent and loyalty were exemplary.”
Dior Remembers a Beloved Fashion Executive
Claudia Schiffer modeled and walked the runway for Christian Dior during her career.
Dior CEO Delphine Arnault also reflected on Favier's impact, remembering both her professional accomplishments and their personal friendship.
“Mathilde loved life with a passion. With the passing of Mathilde, Dior is losing an incredible professional, and I have lost a loyal friend,” Arnault said in a statement. “Her optimism and courage commanded admiration. We will sorely miss her smile and her talent.”
Jonathan Anderson called Mathilde Favier 'the spirit of Couture itself.'
Jonathan Anderson, Dior's creative director, also paid tribute to Favier and the mark she left on the fashion house.
“We all owe so much to her work and dedication,” he said in a statement. “She brought such warmth, energy and was the most positive and uplifting person I have ever met. Mathilde was the very embodiment of elegance and in many ways, the spirit of Couture itself.”
