David 'D4vd' Burke Accused of Killing Teen Girlfriend After She Allegedly Threatened to Expose Their Relationship

David “D4vd” Burke’s music career has been eclipsed by murder allegations involving 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose body was found in his Tesla on September 16, 2025.

“This has been a parent’s worst nightmare, hearing the ghoulish details of how their child was killed, dismembered and left as trash,” Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said of the prosecution’s case, per People.

According to prosecutors, the alleged relationship began online on August 8, 2022, when Hernandez was 11 and Burke was 17, before becoming physical after he moved to L.A. in late 2023.

“If I’m pregnant tho I’m not having it,” Hernandez wrote in a message prosecutors presented from the period after her 13th birthday.

Court testimony cited by the BBC said the messages included discussions about a pregnancy and abortion while Hernandez was 13 and Burke was 19.

“My mother always told me to ask in this situation, but it’s mine right?” Burke allegedly wrote in one exchange shown during the July preliminary hearing.

Hernandez replied, “I don’t like talking about it because it gets me really upset… still took an innocent life of a literal baby.”

Prosecutors say their relationship had soured by spring 2025.

“All we do is have s-- and just hang out man I want more than that for myself,” Hernandez allegedly texted Burke in March 2025.

Authorities allege Burke killed Hernandez in his garage on April 23, 2025, after she threatened to expose alleged sexual abuse that could damage his rising music career.

“Let’s let this abortion be the last one till we have the real one,” Burke allegedly wrote in a June 2024 text disclosed in court, per the BBC.

Hernandez’s decomposed remains were identified in September 2025, after they were found inside the front trunk of a Tesla at a Los Angeles city tow lot.

“It was extremely difficult to tell” exactly when Hernandez died, Los Angeles County medical examiner Dr. Grant Ho testified, citing the condition of her remains.

Prosecutors have alleged that DNA linked to Hernandez was recovered from Burke’s Hollywood Hills home, garage and vehicle, while forensic evidence was presented about an inflatable pool allegedly bought under an alias.

“[He] did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez,” Burke’s attorney Blair Berk said in response to the charges.

Burke, 21, was arrested at his Hollywood Hills home on April 16, after a seven-month investigation into Hernandez’s death.

“Everyone says she’s 13, but she told me she’s 18,” Burke revealed in body-camera footage from a February 2024 welfare check, according to People.

The artist, known for viral songs including “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me,” has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, child sexual abuse and mutilation-related charges.

“Thank God. Justice for Celeste,” Hernandez’s father, Jesus Rivas, said following Burke’s arrest.

“Oh my God. This is so hard,” her mother, Mercedes Martínez, admitted after becoming emotional during a July 22 preliminary hearing.

A judge ruled on July 27 that prosecutors had presented enough evidence for the case to move toward trial, which is expected to begin in the fall.

Burke remains in custody at Los Angeles County’s Twin Towers Correctional Facility, and his arraignment is scheduled for August 31 at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center.
