Dolly Parton's Nephew Reveals Her Touching Final Request for Rest After Country Music Icon's Sad Death

Dolly Parton's nephew revealed the final request his aunt made before she died at 80 years old.

"Dolly called me and said she wants to rest in a beautiful bed of plush cotton because after a life of wearing heavy rhinestones, she finally deserves to be comfortable and have some rest," Bryan Seaver, the son of Dolly's sister Cassie Parton, said in a video as he announced the country music icon's death in a Tuesday, August 25, video.

As OK! previously reported, the "Jolene" singer died peacefully on August 25 in Nashville, Tenn.

The singer-songwriter will be honored in a small, private ceremony attended by her immediate family before being laid to rest beside her late husband, Carl Dean, at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville, per TMZ.

The outlet reported that Dolly asked to be buried in her signature high heels and a comfortable cotton dress.

Though the details of the singer's death remain unclear, TMZ reported that the "I Will Always Love You" singer was hospitalized with "kidney and autoimmune issues" on August 20.

She was admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where she later died.

Leading up to her death, Dolly was forced to cancel several shows and appearances due to health issues. Last year, she postponed a planned six-day residency in Las Vegas, claiming her digestive and immune systems were "all out of whack."

"The good news is I'm responding really well to meds and treatments, and I'm improving every day," she told her fans at the time. "The bad news is, it's gonna take me a little while before I'm up to stage performance level because some of the meds and treatments make me a little bit ‘swimmy headed' as my grandma used to say."

The Steel Magnolias actress addressed the "hard times" she was experiencing just one day after she was admitted to the hospital.

"I am dealing with some health issues that I just didn’t pay attention to when I was watching over Carl," she told People on August 21. "It’s not like I haven’t been through hard times with my health, but I think because we live in a 24/7 world with social media, everything gets magnified in ways it wasn’t years ago. I used to joke that I was the Queen of the Tabloids, but now I guess I can say I’m the Queen of Social Media AI! Seriously, though, even though I’m still healin', I’m still workin.'"
