Dr. Mehmet Oz could be headed to court over after tarnishing the reputation of a small business with claims of alleged healthcare fraud linked to the mafia.
New lawsuit documents obtained by an outlet revealed that Anna Ivanyan, the owner of Tigranakert Meat Market in the Van Nuys neighborhood of Los Angeles, is suing the former TV doctor for featuring her shop in a viral video.
In the clip shared to X in January, the Donald Trump-appointed Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator can be seen speaking in front of Ivanyan's business while making allegations of healthcare fraud that he said is tied to the "Russian Armenian Mafia."
'Everybody Wants to Get in on It'

The former TV doctor claimed alleged hospice schemes are connected to the 'Russian Armenian Mafia.'
On January 27, the CMS administrator wrote, "L.A. County has become an epicenter for health care fraud in America. Criminals have corrupted the system so much that fraud is now almost expected. President Trump has made it clear: we will not tolerate the patient harm or taxpayer funded theft any longer."
At the start of the video, Oz, 65, can be heard saying, "You can see these are medical business...they've got Russian-Armenian writing.. in this four block area there are 42 hospices, so either there's a lot of people dying or you've got a fraudulent activity that is so good everyone wants to get in on it."

Anna Ivanyan claims Dr. Mehmet Oz hurt her business and reputation.
According to TMZ, Ivanyan said that by filming in front of her market while making the slanderous statements made it appear as though it was involved in the alleged criminal operation.
The video currently has over 4 million views on X alone, and L.A. local news outlets apparently reported on it as well, reaching many of her customers.
She is now seeking damages for the affect it's had on business and reputation in the community.

'They'll Steal Your Health, They'll Steal Your Life'

'We have to send a very loud message to fraudsters that we're not open for business for you,' he said.
Oz appeared on CBS News earlier this month, where he addressed an investigation conducted by the network that allegedly "found many hospices in L.A. County had red flags for potential fraud."
"If they steal the money, they'll steal your health, they'll steal your life," he told correspondent Adam Yamaguchi. "And we're seeing that over and over again, which is why we have to send a very loud message to fraudsters that we're not open for business for you."
'We're Going to Be Suspicious of You'

'You're not going to be able to get through the gauntlet,' the doctor declared.
Oz told Yamaguchi that the federal government has "made a checklist of all the classic tactics used by fraudsters to be able to get away with hospice fraud," so that "when you apply for hospice now, you're not going to be able to get through the gauntlet."
"If all those factors aren't addressed appropriately, we're going to be suspicious of you," he explained.
