Emily Austin is quickly becoming the kind of sports broadcaster who seems just as comfortable interviewing a heavyweight champion as she does commanding attention on social media.

Over the weekend, she brought both sides of her career together when she teamed up with Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.

Austin joined the MVP broadcast team for its August 21 fight night at Pechanga Resort Casino in Southern California, working throughout a championship event headlined by boxing superstar Amanda Serrano’s WBA and WBO featherweight title defense against Lucrecia Manzur.

Austin wasn't just watching the action from ringside, either.

She was involved throughout the event, covering weigh-ins and face-offs, interviewing fighters and appearing on camera before stepping into the ring to speak with the night's winners.

The assignment was a natural fit for Austin, who has built the kind of career that feels particularly made for today's sports world. She can post an eye-catching look for her social media followers one day and find herself interviewing a world champion the next.

Behind the influencer following is plenty of actual broadcasting experience. Austin has spent years covering major boxing events with DAZN, becoming a familiar face during fight weeks and going one-on-one with stars including former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

She has also taken her sports coverage beyond boxing, including recent FIFA coverage in multiple cities. Her combination of sports knowledge, camera presence, fashion and social media reach has helped Austin carve out a lane somewhere between traditional sportscaster and modern-day influencer.

That made working with Paul particularly fitting.

The YouTuber-turned-professional boxer has built his own career by showing how an enormous online following can translate into the sports world. Through MVP, Paul has taken that formula even further, promoting professional fighters while finding new ways to introduce boxing to younger and more digitally focused audiences.

Friday night's card was another example, making history as the first championship boxing event streamed live on TikTok.

Austin has plenty happening away from the ring, too.

She is currently filming No Days Off, a forthcoming reality series that will take fans behind the scenes of her increasingly busy career across sports and entertainment. Her MVP weekend offered plenty of material, from fight-week preparation and interviews to the work that goes into appearing on a major broadcast.

For Austin, the weekend was another sign that her profile is moving well beyond social media.

She may have the influencer following and camera-ready style, but Austin continues to show that when the bell rings, she belongs ringside, too.
