Former 'Vogue' Creative Director André Leon Talley Dead At 73 — Paris Hilton, Kerry Washington & More Celebs Pay Tribute
André Leon Talley has died at the age of 73.
Talley was renowned for his time as Vogue's creative director. He was also the American editor-at-large of the publication for a period of time.
According to TMZ, the writer passed away on Tuesday, January 18, in a New York hospital. It is not clear why he was in the hospital.
"It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear friend and client, the indomitable Andrew Leon Talley on January 18, 2022 in New York," his representatives at TAA PR said in a statement, per Sky News.
"Mr Talley was the larger-than-life, long time creative director at Vogue during its rise to dominance as the world's fashion bible. Over the past five decades as an international icon was a close confidant of Yves Saint Laurent, Karl Lagerfeld, Paloma Picasso and he had a penchant for discovering, nurturing and celebrating young designers," the statement continued.

Paris Hilton shared a photo of herself with Talley on her Instagram Story. "RIP @andreleontalley," she captioned the loving post, while Viola Davis captioned her Instagram post: "Rest well King."
Model Milla Jovovich shared a photo with the stylist on Instagram, describing Tally as an "incredible artist," and one of the "most genuinely wonderful humans."
"Always there with the most beautiful smile and open arms, he was so sweet and kind, always so gracious and I imagine the term 'fierce' was coined after meeting him," she continued. "I feel so lucky to have been embraced in his warm glow so many times in my career, because good people are few and far between in this business."
Kerry Washington also shared a snap of the pair embracing on Instagram. "Heaven is not ready for you darling!!!!!! The whole afterlife is going to be just too fabulous now," she lamented. The actress added that Talley's "charm and wit" were a blessing.
Model Coco Rocha said she was "so sad" to hear of Talley's passing. "He was a legendary figure in fashion and a walking encyclopedia of knowledge," she tweeted.
