On Instagram, she posted a clip of herself talking to the camera without makeup outside her Bozeman, Montana, home, as she said, “Hi everyone, I’m home.”

She went on to say that she was “calming down” after her travels, adding, “Wearing my mama’s shirt, letting the wind blow through my white hair. Watching the sun go down.”
Close wore a Madras checkered shirt featuring purple, orange, red, and teal shades, which belonged to her late mother, Bettine Moore. She passed away in her sleep at age 90 on February 23, 2015.

She captioned the post, “And Pip is right behind me,” with a red heart emoji, referring to her beloved Havanese dog, whom she often brings to public appearances.
