Hayden Panettiere's Boyfriend Brian Hickerson Tried to Date 'Drunk' Woman He Met on Night Out Months Before Actress' Death

Hayden Panettiere's on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, was insistent on trying to date another woman months before the actress' death.

The 26-year-old female, who asked to remain anonymous, revealed she met Hickerson, 37, on March 28 at a downtown club in Greenville, S.C., while out with a friend.

The woman – who, like Hickerson, is also from Greenville – told Page Six she was "heavily intoxicated" and didn't "remember much" of the night that she met him.

Hickerson, whose social media account has since been deactivated, reportedly sent her a direct message on Instagram the next day.

"Great meeting you last night pretty lady. I owe you a date. I’m heading to [C]ity Tavern for a slushie in a bit you should join," read the private message sent by Hickerson on March 29.

The woman claimed she wasn't aware of Hickerson's connection to Panettiere until after the actress' death on August 16. At the time, his social media profile only featured a few very "outdated" photos.

"Hey Brian! I’m sorry I missed this — I’m awful with my inbox. I have to be so honest, I don’t remember much of that night. What happened? 😂😅," she wrote in response to the message on April 1. "I'm sorry I missed your slushy invite, but I for sure would not have made it. Today is the first day I’ve had a clear mind since Saturday night."

Hickerson told her she "didn't seem too drunk" to him when they met, adding, "You wanted to make sure I took you somewhere nice on a date which clearly throws Waffle House out the window so I guess Halls [Chophouse] might have to do if you wanna meet each other properly."

"Just moved here from Los Angeles so it was nice meeting a pretty girl in Greenville out of the blue," he continued. "I also realized after I reached out on instagram you gave me your number so I'll shoot you a text if that’s better."

The woman admitted she had no recollection of their meeting, asking where specifically at that nightclub they met, before questioning, "How old are you? I'm 25."

Hickerson told her they met "in the middle of the dance floor" and that he was 36 but "read on a 25-year-old level."

"Is that a dealbreaker?" he asked.

Though the woman agreed to the planned date, after Hickerson began to probe into where she grew up, she stopped responding to his messages.

"Hey you it’s Brian Hickerson. Figured I’d text you since you don’t check Insta," he wrote on April 2.

Two days later, he sent a follow-up message that read, "Im gonna be out of town for work till next Monday. So how about we shoot for halls mid week?"

Hours later, Hickerson responded to the woman's Instagram Story, in which she asked her followers who didn't have a "church buddy" to join her for Easter service the following day.

"Goodness you must be reading my mind haha I was gonna skip tomorrow because it was just me. Where do you go?" he wrote.

He reached out one final time on April 14 to no reply, writing, "Hey hey, I’m back in town this week. When am I taking you to hall’s?"

The woman told the outlet that she "lost interest" in Hickerson after being uncomfortable with having no memory of their meeting and their age gap. She claimed it wasn't until she learned of the Remember the Titans actress' death earlier this month that she made the connection to meeting Hickerson.

Hickerson and Panettiere's relationship status was unknown at the time of her suspected fatal overdose.

The pair, who started dating in 2018, had a tumultuous relationship — with the South Carolina native being sentenced to 45 days in prison after pleading no contest to two felony counts of injuring her.

Page Six reported that the Nashville star reconnected with her former partner about two weeks before her death. They were reportedly in California for about a week before they traveled to South Carolina together.

"If Brian was back in her life then it was something she was hiding because she wasn’t speaking about it with many of her friends," a source told the outlet on August 18.
