Jakob Michael Korber, 29, was arrested on Sunday, August 30, after allegedly beating his mother, Christin Hamilton, to death inside their Sewickley Township, Penn., home.
Following a manhunt, he was caught by a local news crew as he walked back to the crime scene.
Authorities state Korber attacked his mother early Sunday morning, August 30, as she was starting her day.
Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Steve Limani noted the victim "went through h---" during a beating that lasted for over an hour.
'Disgusting to Watch'
"I can only imagine what she had to go through to find her mother in the state that she was found," Limani said. "It's a horrific thing for what the victim had to go through, and it's disgusting to watch."
"It's just a disgusting, vile act that he committed against his mother that lasted for a long, sustained period of time where she pled for her life and he at no point in time showed any mercy," Limani said.
Korber allegedly changed clothes and went to sleep in a nearby field.

Korber fled the home on foot, prompting an hours-long police manhunt across Westmoreland County.

News crews from CBS affiliate KDKA-TV were on site and filmed him walking down the road in a high-visibility vest.

'It Was at the Hands of Her Son'
'He at no point in time showed any mercy,' alleged Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Steve Limani.
“KDKA-TV captured video of Korber approaching the driveway, and when police met him, he knelt and put his hands over his head. He was taken into custody without incident,” reported CBS News.
As state troopers approached, Korber put his hands up, dropped to his knees, and surrendered without further incident.
Investigators stated that Korber confessed during interviews, admitting that if his mother was dead, he caused it.
Korber is being held without bail at the Westmoreland County Prison.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday, September 14.
"She went through h--- for over an hour, and it was at the hands of her son," Limani said.
"I would say that there is a small part of remorse being conveyed during the subsequent interview," Limani said. "But it lasted for over an hour. At some point in time, you could have stopped. And that's not what happened."
This incident follows a separate tragedy for the family; Korber’s younger sister was one of four local high school students killed in a vehicle crash in March 2026.
