Jason Momoa & Lisa Bonet's Polar Opposite Personalities Impacted Their Split, 'Differences' Were 'Heightened' While Actor Was Busy Working, Source Spills
Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet's vast differences became a major problem in their relationship prior to their decision to end their marriage.
According to Entertainment Tonight, the Aquaman star, 42, and the Angel Heart actress, 54, were dealing with cracks in their relationship months before announcing to the world that they were going their separate ways.
"Jason and Lisa were struggling in their relationship for quite some time," a source told the outlet. "When Jason was away filming Aquaman 2, their differences and issues were heightened."
"He was gone for a while and it definitely put additional stress on their relationship," the insider reportedly revealed. Despite their difficulties, the former pair, "still have love for each other and respect one another."
Momoa and Bonet — who share daughter Lola, 14, and son Nakoa-Wolf, 13 — began dating in 2005 after meeting through mutual friends at a jazz club. After being together for years, the two officially married in October 2017.

A source emphasized to Us Weekly that while their polar opposite personalities once bonded them, it ended up taking a toll on their union. “Jason and Lisa worked because they were so different,” the insider explained. “He was jovial, loud and the center of attention, and Lisa was always cool, calm and subdued."
“That energy really started to cause friction because they wanted to live different lives,” the insider continued to the outlet. “Jason wanted to travel and adventure much more. Lisa, she would rather read, write poetry and cook at home.”
As OK! previously reported, the Game of Thrones actor and The Cosby Show star revealed in a joint statement, posted to Instagram on January 12, that they were splitting after 16 years together.
"We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring," their statement read. "And so we share our Family news that we are parting ways in marriage."
