Kelly Ripa Shares Glimpse Inside Vacation With Mark Consuelos Amid Hiatus From 'Live' After Gum Surgery

Kelly Ripa is keeping her fans updated about her vacation with Mark Consuelos amidst a hiatus from Live with Kelly and Mark.

On August 30, Sunday, Ripa took to her Instagram Stories to share a picturesque snap of the sun setting over the open ocean.

While it didn't feature a caption, Ripa tagged her husband's Instagram handle and set the Story to the song "The Moon and the Sky" by Sade.

Besides this, the pair haven't offered any major glimpses into their time off on social media while enjoying their annual summer hiatus for nearly a month now.

Meanwhile, episodes for their show since early August have been prerecorded and feature new conversations between the co-hosts, along with a mix of old and new celebrity interviews and other segments.

Furthermore, this latest update from Ripa also comes about six weeks after her initial absence from Live due to her gum grafting surgery.

Previously on Live, Consuelos officially announced that Kevin Jonas will be filling in for Ripa for a while, given her absence due to a recent medical issue.

At the time, he said, per TV Insider, “Kelly sends her love. Kelly had a little bit of — well, it’s not a little — a gum graft surgery.”

"Her dentist said five years ago, 'You can do it in about five years.' And she joked, 'I didn't think I'd still be on the air in five years," he jokingly said during the show's July 27 episode, adding that Ripa was doing well at the time and was not allowed to talk.

"There's a list of things that you're not allowed to do — talking, she has to eat soft food, you can't suck out of a straw," Consuelos proceeded to detail. "You can't examine it, which means pulling down the lip. And so, last night, she's like, 'Can you look?' I'm like, 'I'm not pulling your lip down.'"

When Jonas asked if it was a painful experience for her, Consuelos said, “Yeah, it’s painful. But she famously doesn’t feel pain. When she goes into the dentist, she doesn’t really use the Novocain. But this one hurts, so I know it’s bad.”

Their daughter, Lola Consuelos, also hinted that she might be on vacation with her parents.

Sharing her own beach pictures through her Instagram handle on August 22, she captioned the snaps, "I'm usually always smiling."
