Blonde bombshell Kim Kardashian made a huge fashion statement in Marilyn Monroe's infamous sheer gown at the prestigious Met Gala.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum, 41, stepped out onto the red carpet on Monday, May 2, wearing the movie star's iconic "Happy Birthday Mr. President" dress.
“For me the most Marilyn Monroe moment is when she sang 'Happy Birthday,' to JFK, it was that look," Kim told Vogue of the jaw-dropping look.“The idea really came to me after the gala in September last year. I thought to myself, what would I have done for the American theme if it had not been the Balenciaga look? What’s the most American thing you can think of? And that’s Marilyn Monroe."
Right by her side as she struggled to walk up the stairs was boyfriend Pete Davidson. The funny man, 28, looked dapper as ever in an all black suit as he helped his lady up the carpet in her historical artifact gown.

The 2022 Gala marks the first time all five Kardashian-Jenners will be in attendance and walking the red carpet — and the matriarch couldn't be more excited. While chatting with E!, Kris Jenner noted she would be holding court at the top of the stairs to watch all of her daughters strut their stuff.
This is now the second time in the past week the duo has hit up a swanky event arm in arm. On Saturday, April 30, the pair made their red carpet debut at the White House Correspondent's Association Dinner.
Kardashian and Davidson went Instagram official earlier this year after first meeting at last year's swanky event. As OK! previously reported, Kim revealed during an episode of The Kardashians that despite everyone thinking they met during her SNL hosting stint, where the unlikely couple locked lips during a skit, it was actually the star-studded 2021 gala.

"I ran into Pete Davidson at the Met and I was like, 'I am so scared. I don’t know what I signed up for,'" the reality star recalled of their chat last year. "And he’s like, ‘Can you read cue cards? You’re good. You’re good.'"
