A 'Concerned' and Sick King Charles Worries That William and Harry 'Won't Be Ready' to Take Over From Him
King Charles III is only 1.5 years into his reign, but it could all be getting ready to topple down around him, with no guarantee Princes William and Harry could save it.
"Charles is anxious over whether the boys are ready to take over," a royal source spilled to an outlet. "When it was his time to be king, he was fully ready. He was older, and had so much more life experience."
"His sons are, in many ways, still finding their feet," they added. "Their ongoing row is a worry too. It is a difficult time for them. Still, Charles is doing his best to be upbeat and focus on his treatment. He is getting the best care and wants to be able to serve the country as best as he can."
Another insider shared that the monarch is "trying to stay away from stress at all costs. The last thing a person battling cancer needs is undue stress, anxiety, and worry." They also added that the sovereign may be taking "anti-anxiety medications to deal with [it all]" since His Majesty's treatment is still in its early stages.
"He feels there is a cruel irony at work in how he waited 73 years of his life to become the monarch, only to be stricken down with humanity's worst disease not even a year and a half into his kingship," they said.
Neither the King nor Buckingham Palace have revealed what type of cancer His Majesty has, how severe it is, what the prognosis for his condition is, or anything beyond that he is receiving treatment for it.
"King Charles wants Prince William and Harry to enjoy their families," a third royal source shared. "To spend time with their children, and watch them grow up, and be as hands-on as possible. Taking on more public duties right now is not what he wants for them, so he is determined to soldier on as much as possible. He is getting the best care and has a very positive attitude."
These revelations come amid reports that share how the Prince of Wales reportedly "no longer regards" his younger brother as "a person in his life," which is a culmination of the past few years of the Duke of Sussex's "attacks" on his character.

The Montecito Duke slammed his sibling multiple times in his 2023 memoir, Spare, even going so far as bizarrely compare William's look with their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. Harry also ragged on the future king's "balding head," as well.
The duo have reportedly not spoken a single word to one another since Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in September 2022, which was before Harry and Meghan Markle's "royal attack-filled" Netflix documentary came out, which also preceded Harry's "deeply damaging" book.
Daily Mirror reported on the insider revelations.
