The members of Little Mix are going their separate ways for the time being.
The beloved British girl group — which is made up of Perrie Edwards, 28, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 30 and Jade Thirwall, 28 — announced on social media on Thursday, December 2 that they would be taking a hiatus from working together after their upcoming tour.
The post shared on Thursday from the group’s Instagram account featured a video montage of a bunch of sweet moments from over the years.
“We wanted to let you all know that after the Confetti tour in April/May next year we are going to be taking a break from Little Mix,” the caption on the heartfelt post read.
“It’s been 10 amazing years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel the time is right to take a break so we can recharge and work on some other projects.”
“We can’t thank you enough for your love and never-ending support since the beginning. We love you all SO much,” the musicians wrote to their fans while insisting that the group’s days together are not over forever.
“We are not splitting up — Little Mix are here to stay 💫 We have plans for more music, tours and performances in the future. We’ve made so many incredible memories with you all, and we can’t wait to make so many more.”
“We’re sisters and we’ll always have each other and you, the fans, in our lives. Little Mix is forever ♥️ See you on tour! Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie x,” the post concluded.

The announcement comes a year after their former fourth member Jesy Nelson revealed that she would be exiting the group.
In December 2020, the 30-year-old spilled the news in an Instagram post, explaining that she had “the most incredible time” while in the group, but that it was now time to “embark on a new chapter.”
Her former bandmates at the time expressed that it was “an incredibly sad time for all of us be we are fully supportive of Jesy.”
In a bombshell interview with The Guardian in August, Nelson opened up about the struggles she faced while working alongside three other women — who she was often compared to.
“You’re always going to get compared; who they think looks better, who they think sings better. There’s always going to be one person people think is weaker,” she told the outlet. “It was never about my singing or dancing. It was about how I looked.”
After Nelson’s exit, the three-some went on to release their hit album Between Us. Pinnock also signed her own music deal earlier this year, and according to People, Thirwall is planning to set out for a solo career as well.
It is also possible that the “Black Magic” singers’ break could have something to do with their busy personal lives, as Pinnock and Edwards both recently welcomed children earlier this year.
