After hitting a rough patch with his longtime love Luciana Barroso, Matt Damon is pulling out all the stops to make things right.
The pair's 15-year marriage was rumored to be hanging by a thread after the actor, 50, was spotted without his wedding ring in January during multiple visits to newly-single pal Ben Affleck's house in L.A.. But since relocating to Australia with Barroso, 45, and their kids to shoot his new movie, Thor: Love and Thunder, "Matt has been arranging date nights, showering her with presents and even hired a top chef to cook all their meals," a source spills.
"He knows he started to get complacent and neglected Luciana. He feels like a heel, but he's promised her not to let things get so bad again." In fact, "He's determined to put the spark back in their marriage," adds the source, "and it seems to be working!"
As OK! previously reported, the family are staying together in a lavish $7,000-a-night rental in Byron Bay while the shooting takes place. As per a source, the beachy surroundings of the house is just what the couple need to fix the rough patch in their relationship.
"Matt's arranged date nights and has bought gifts for her to open every day." says a friend. "Even when he's working, he's got time set aside for just them."
It all seems to be working as well as "it's the shot in the arm that they both needed."

Over the past few months, the Oscar winner and his wife have been really struggling as they had to deal with the sudden shift in Damon's filming schedule along with the stress around schooling kids.
"It's led to increased tension between them," a source had said.
