Why We Picked Mayzlin Relocation:
Mayzlin Relocation is one of our favorites, partly because they have a huge menu of services, and partly because they keep their whole operation in-house. This means they don’t subcontract moves, so you’ll always know who you’ll be dealing with. And of course, when you move with Mayzlin, you’re getting an impressive selection of goodies and extra add-ons - including real-time tracking!
Loading and hauling: Loading and hauling is the backbone of pretty much every moving company out there, and Mayzlin handles it awesomely. Their own trucks, their own movers, their own equipment, and - possibly most importantly - their own training and experience.
Storage: Need some extra square feet? Need some extra time? Mayzlin can hook you up with both. With plenty of secure storage options to choose from, you can get some much-needed flexibility for move-in or move-out day.
Packing: Packing is one of the hardest parts of the move, but Mayzlin makes it easy. They’ll send their own team to take care of the wrapping, boxing, and bubble wrap, and you won’t have to lift a finger. They also come prepared with extra equipment and supplies!
Real time tracking: GPS tracking is still a pretty new tool in the moving game, so Mayzlin is an early innovator with this one. You’ll be able to stay in the loop, and seriously reduce all the uncertainty that comes with a local or long distance relocation.
Types of Moves Offered:
Local moving: A local move is anything under 100 miles and within the same state. Child’s play for a moving company like Mayzlin Relocation. They’ll send the best local team for the job, and the guys that show up will be plenty familiar with the area.
Long distance moving: You’ll need long distance movers if you’re going over 100 miles or across state lines (even if the state line is just across the street). Mayzlin is licensed and certified to handle long distance moves, and they can load and haul alongside the biggest of big name movers.
Cross country moving: Coast to coast, border to border, Mayzlin Relocation has your back. Their network is always expanding, and they operate a few major cross country routes. If you’re in it for the long haul, so is Mayzlin.
Corporate moves: Mayzlin knows that a corporate relocation can be a serious disruption to your day-to-day. That’s why they make sure that your corporate move goes as smoothly as possible. They’ll minimize downtime, and pack up all your specialized office equipment, appliances, inventory, and more.
Military relocations: A military move doesn’t always come at the most convenient time. You may have to relocate temporarily, or deal with a permanent change of station (PCS). Whatever the case, Mayzlin has plenty of experience with military moves of all shapes and sizes. They can get you packed and wheels-up in a hurry.
Pros:
Great customer service
Safe and secure services
Punctual
Flexible with customer requirements
Cons:
No international moving services
How Much Does it Cost:
For a 2 or 3 bedroom house and an average distance of about 1,500 miles, you can expect Mayzlin to set you back between $5400.00 and $6800.00. Your final price will depend on how much you’re hauling, and how far you have to travel. Moving a studio across town will be way cheaper than moving a 5-bedroom across the US - in fact, it’ll probably be a lot cheaper than $5400!
Where Is Mayzlin Relocation Available?
Want OK! each day? Sign up here!
Mayzlin Relocation is available all across the lower 48. This is especially impressive when you consider that they’ll be sending their own in-house guys to take care of your move, wherever you are. They’re also always adding routes, so for you fine folks stuck in Alaska or Hawaii, keep checking in to see if there are any changes!
Customer Support and Communication:
One of the other great bonuses of Mayzlin’s in-house approach? Their customer service reps are AMAZING. They’re super helpful and communicative, and they offer GPS tracking so you can keep an eye on your belongings throughout the whole relocation. Plus, when you call in, you won’t get bounced around to some random call center.
Insurance and Claims Process:
Two things to keep in mind about moving insurance: 1) movers are required to offer a basic level of coverage, but it’s only good for $0.60 per pound; and 2) some moving companies offer full-value coverage at an extra price.
Mayzlin goes a little above and beyond. Not only is their basic coverage good for $1.20 per pound (twice as much as the other guys!) but they also offer full value coverage in case you’d like to get a little more than $4.80 for that 4-pound laptop.
Packing and Handling of Special Items:
Mayzlin pays extra attention to specialty moving. If you have some large, fragile, or expensive items, they’ll make sure it’s all wrapped up nicely. Interestingly enough, they also offer their services for small moves. Ordinarily, moving companies require you to meet a minimum weight before they’ll give you a quote. Mayzlin is much more forgiving, and can transport that mattress and computer desk if that’s all you have.
Sustainability Practices:
Some moving companies are really green-oriented. Whether that’s all talk is really up to your individual experience. Mayzlin Relocation has no pretensions of greenwashing, and their focus is mainly on just getting your move done safely and efficiently. Fortunately, that focus on efficiency does mean a little bonus in terms of sustainability. Less wasted fuel, more direct routes, and they can add small moves to their trucks so they don’t send empty trailers all over the place.
Moving Resources and Guides:
Mayzlin is helpful, even if you aren’t booking their services. Their website has an easy-to-use utility if you’re just looking for a quote, and they also have some helpful blog posts and information on their website. Another cool feature is their live map. You can keep an eye on all their trucks and depots throughout the day, and even see where your belongings are being transported.
Customer Reviews and Testimonials:
Currently, Mayzlin Relocation has a 3.9 out of 5 on Google reviews. If you’re looking for a restaurant, 3.9 may not seem like much - but in the world of professional movers, 3.9 is one of the highest scores you’ll ever see. Google reviews are notoriously harsh for movers across the board, so Mayzlin’s score is pretty impressive.
Aside from their Google reviews, their website has plenty of testimonials from satisfied customers. We understand there’s clearly some selection bias when you’re checking a company’s website, but at least they have some positive feedback to show off.
If you’re looking for a quality mover that keeps it all in-house, Mayzlin Relocation is the choice for you. Check out their site, get a quote, and best of luck with your move!
