When it comes to her dad, Thomas Markle, his estranged daughter, Meghan Markle, has "completely moved on" and wants nothing to do with him.

"I feel intensely sorry for him, he's a very decent man, very hard-working, he was a wonderful father," royal author Tom Bower told The Sun's Matt Wilkinson. "Meghan owes him such a lot, and she's treated him appallingly. She's treated him in a way which is just totally unwarranted."

"And, there he is, sitting in a rather shabby cabin in New Mexico and he doesn't deserve what she's ladled out," he added.

Thomas was originally set to give his famous daughter away at her royal wedding to Prince Harry in the spring of 2018, but the former lighting technician suffered a heart attack days before. However, also before the nuptials, Thomas was caught staging paparazzi photos in exchange for money. This incident caused significant embarrassment and led to him eventually pulling out of walking Meghan down the aisle, citing health issues as the reason.

"Even when he had his heart attack and wasn't able to get to the wedding, no one was there to help him," he continued. "I think the Palace behaved appallingly towards him, abandoned him, very much, I think, because Harry and Meghan themselves just thought he was someone who could be ignored."

The former Married... with Children crew member then began to regularly give media interviews about his thoughts on Harry and Meghan, "Megxit," and more.

"It's too late, the Sussexes have moved on, they don't seem to give two hoots [whether] he's frankly alive or dead anymore, and probably they would prefer him to disappear," Bower bluntly mentioned.

The scribe also tore into the ex-working royals for reportedly hiding behind humanitarian work, simply because it's part of the royal identity they abandoned. The duo also apparently uses charitable work as a mask to conceal their greed and "venom."

"They have no compassion for a man who deserves it and unfortunately is going to get worse as he gets older and sicker," he further observed. "That was the most astonishing thing when he had his stroke, Meghan left her home in Montecito but didn't go down to Mexico to see her father, but went to the site of a school shooting instead."

In her and Harry's explosive March 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Duchess told the media titan that her reasoning behind continuing the estrangement had to do with "betrayal."

"I’m trying to decide if I'm comfortable even talking about that," the former Suits star spilled. "It was... if we were going to use the word betrayal."
