Meghan Markle may have "fed" Endgame author Omid Scobie King Charles III and Kate, Princess of Wales' names as the "royal racists" from the tome's Dutch edition.

"There’s no doubt in my mind that she fed him [Omid] those two names," veteran royal author Tom Bower told an outlet.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have not commented on 'Endgame.'

"But it didn’t make sense. She told Oprah that there was one conversation and there was no conversation between Charles, Kate, and Harry right at the beginning of their relationship. It was Charles and Camilla," he added.

When the naming controversy news broke in late November 2023, various online forums and discussion groups claimed that the King and future queen were the two names mentioned as the "royal racists" in the Dutch version of Endgame. This was then labeled a "translation error" by Scobie who claimed he had nothing to do with the reveal.

"I do know who made the comments about Archie's skin color. The names were mentioned in letters between Meghan and Charles that were exchanged sometime after the Oprah interview. We know from sources that Charles was horrified that that's how Meghan felt," Scobie shared during an interview.

He continued: "Those conversations were, and that he wanted to, sort of as a representative for the family, have that conversation with her. And it is why I personally think they have been able to move forward with some kind of line of communication afterward. Though they may not see eye to eye on it."

Meghan Markle admitted in court that she gave Omid Scobie information about her for his first book, after having previously denied doing so.

The author has since refused to offer an apology to the monarch and Princess of Wales, going so far as to claim he has "nothing to apologize for." The co-writer of 2020's Finding Freedom appeared tearful in one interview and reverted to insinuating he was a victim of "unfair treatment."

The Duchess of Sussex has not commented on the scandal, and at this point, neither she nor Prince Harry are expected to. Charles III and Catherine have, of course, refrained from mentioning the book at all and likely never will, as royals are meant to remain silent about anything other than their duties.

Endgame went on to gross lower sales than what many predicted, thanks to the popularity of the author's previous book three years earlier.

Despite Scobie's denials, there are many who feel that the author cannot be trusted after collaborating with Meghan on Finding Freedom.

"He's always craved the attention that being Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's one-time preferred outlet gave him, and that is completely evident with his decision to relocate to Los Angeles. He's literally following the Meghan Markle handbook, burn bridges in the U.K., and flee to LA in search of fame and fortune," one royal commentator shared.
