Meghan Markle's Sacrificed Dreams: Prince Harry Feels 'Guilty' Duchess Gave Up Her Career Aspirations for Royal Machine
Prince Harry is said to feel remorseful over Meghan Markle joining the British royal family and sacrificing her dreams for the life it entails... or entailed before they left in 2020.
"Meghan has made no secret of how much she misses her care-free life when she was an actress," a source close to Team Sussex shared.
"While she'd never change what she has with Harry and the kids, there is a big part of her that she wishes she could just get her old life back," they added.
Meghan's acting career took off when she landed the role of Rachel Zane in the basic cable legal procedural dramedy, Suits, in 2011. The performer had been working in small roles in television and film since the early 2000s. The future HRH was exposed to the workings of Hollywood through her father, Thomas Markle's lighting technician work when she was a kid.
The Duchess-to-be met Harry in the summer of 2016 and the two announced their royal engagement in November 2017 before marrying on May 19, 2018.
"Harry often feels guilty for Meghan having to give up on her dream life, and he knows how much she sacrificed to marry him and have a family with him, so he will support her no matter what," the source continued.
Despite the fifth in line to the throne's supposed remorse for his wife's decisions, the ex-actress is said to be gearing up for a return to the spotlight.
"She has quite a few work commitments coming up but this is just the beginning of Meghan's big comeback and she'll be doing things on her terms," the insider observed. "She loved being in Suits and all the opportunities it gave her — she'd get invited to all the exclusive events and get to hang out with Hollywood A-listers but there was so much less scrutiny and attention and there was no pressure on her."
They concluded: "She feels the time is right to start looking at offers as she knows she’ll be criticized [for] whatever she does so she can cope with backlash and wants to do what makes her happy."

But Meghan's new relaunch could be a bit more difficult this time around.
"Harry and Meghan are being left off guest lists for friend's weddings and other events due to their estrangement from the royal family," another source recently spilled. "There is genuine fear that if the Sussexes are invited to a wedding or a christening, it could leave that family excluded from the social circuit, which would be one of the biggest faux pas imaginable."
The new Sussex moniker is said to stem from how the pair are now perceived in Tinseltown and Soho in London's West End.
