There are few cities on earth that know how to throw a global event quite like Mexico City.
By the time the 2026 FIFA World Cup arrives, the sprawling capital will once again become one of the centerpieces of the soccer world — a city where late-night taco stands, rooftop cocktail bars, historic plazas and packed football stadiums all collide into one giant celebration.
And during an exclusive visit ahead of the tournament, OK! found one hotel that feels particularly well positioned for travelers wanting to immerse themselves in all of it: Andaz Mexico City Condesa.

Surrounded by the buzzing cafés, art deco streets and nonstop energy of Condesa, Andaz Mexico City Condesa sits at the center of one of Mexico City’s most vibrant neighborhoods ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Unlike many luxury hotels that feel intentionally removed from the energy of their surroundings, the Andaz leans directly into the pulse of Condesa — one of Mexico City’s coolest neighborhoods.
Tree-lined streets buzz with sidewalk cafés, vintage bookstores, cocktail bars and art deco architecture, while locals walk dogs through nearby Parque México before spilling into restaurants that stay busy well past midnight. The neighborhood already feels international on a normal weekend. During the World Cup, it will likely become electric.
Mexico City is expected to host multiple marquee World Cup matches at the legendary Estadio Azteca, including games featuring Mexico’s national team. The stadium is already football folklore — it hosted both Pelé and Diego Maradona lifting World Cup trophies decades apart — and will now become the first stadium ever to host matches across three FIFA World Cups.
Across the city, preparations are already underway. Infrastructure upgrades, tourism investments and transit improvements are helping prepare for the millions of visitors expected to descend on the capital in 2026.
But even beyond the tournament itself, Mexico City has quietly evolved into one of the world’s most exciting urban destinations over the past decade — equal parts creative capital, culinary powerhouse and nightlife playground.
That atmosphere is deeply woven into the Andaz Condesa experience.

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup set to bring fans from around the globe to Mexico City, the rooftop at Andaz Mexico City Condesa offers the perfect place to soak in the city’s skyline, vibrant nightlife and pre-tournament excitement high above Condesa.
Opened in 2023, the Andaz hotel feels far more reflective of modern Mexico City than a traditional luxury property.
Contemporary artwork fills the space, including Dutch artist Jan Hendrix’s giant shimmering pink installation hanging dramatically above the escalators.
The lobby constantly hums with activity — travelers heading out for dinner, locals grabbing coffee and stylish guests drifting between rooftop cocktails and late-night plans.
The rooms themselves feel residential and surprisingly calming considering the chaos of the city outside.
Floor-to-ceiling windows frame views of Condesa’s leafy boulevards and dense skyline while record players and curated vinyl collections give the accommodations a playful personality that feels distinctly tied to the neighborhood.
But like much of Mexico City, the Andaz hotel really comes alive after dark.

A giant shimmering pink installation by Dutch artist Jan Hendrix hangs dramatically above the escalators at Andaz Mexico City Condesa, setting the tone for the hotel’s vibrant, art-filled atmosphere in the heart of Condesa.
One evening, we headed upstairs to Cabuya Rooftop just as the sun disappeared behind the skyline.
DJs played beside the rooftop pool while groups lingered over spicy cocktails and seafood-heavy Mexican-Caribbean dishes.
The atmosphere felt less like a hotel restaurant and more like one of the city’s many stylish social scenes unfolding above the streets below.
That social energy will almost certainly intensify during the World Cup. Soccer fans from around the globe are expected to flood Condesa and neighboring Roma Norte, transforming cafés and sports bars into unofficial international fan zones.
The Andaz already feels built for that kind of moment, especially with spaces like Wooftop beer garden and Canine Club and Bulldog Sportsbar — a lively indoor-outdoor venue packed with oversized TV screens, arcade games, great food and peak beer garden energy.

Still, what makes the Andaz hotel especially appealing isn’t simply its luxury amenities or trendy rooftop. It’s the way it captures the version of Mexico City travelers increasingly fall in love with — creative, chaotic, stylish and constantly moving.
Because while the 2026 FIFA World Cup may bring the world to Mexico City, the city itself is ultimately the main event.
And staying somewhere like Andaz immersed directly in that energy feels far more memorable than watching it all from a distance.

As the sun sets over Mexico City, Cabuya Rooftop at Andaz Mexico City Condesa transforms into one of Condesa’s buzziest social scenes, complete with skyline views, tropical cocktails and a rooftop pool high above the city streets.
