North West, the 13-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, has sparked backlash targeted at her famous mom.
The teen posted a new TikTok video sporting a new look, and some commenters took issue with the way she was made up — claiming Kim should encourage North to be confident in herself just as she is.
North West Debuts 'New Nose' Look
North West's nose looked contoured in a new video.
The video showed North adorably mouthing along and dancing to Rihanna's "S.O.S."
In the clip, Kim's eldest child was sporting the same long blue hair she's had for several months now, plus black leather and silver clothes.
But it was her makeup (and possibly filters she used over the footage) that had some commenters criticizing the SKIMS founder. In particular, some commenters remarked on how North's nose looked — i.e. elongated and contoured compared to how it's appeared in the past.
The Comment Section Was Torn
Commenters disagreed about the video.
"Her contouring her beautiful nose is making me really upset. What is happening here," one person commented.
"Poor kid, she got influenced by her relatives to believe her face is not pretty enough as it is. Bad parenting," said someone else.
However, other followers had no issue with the way North chose to express her creativity.
"Y’all obviously didn’t have an alt phase when u were 13 and it shows. imagine having an alt phase as a 13 year old with UNLIMITED BUDGET AND CONNECTIONS. of course she wants to express herself let her be. nothing about this is inappropriate," one person observed.
"The only thing we should be concerned about is this child’s happiness and mental well being. As long as she is safe and no harm is done 🤷🏻♀️," said another.
The teen had a Rihanna song playing in the background.

North West's Creative Expression Has Sparked Backlash Before
Kim Kardashian has had to defend North in the past.
North has always been a big personality — and since she's been on TikTok with a huge platform (she shares her account with her mom), people have had plenty to say about her posts.
Back in January, North shared videos of herself sporting what may have been a fake nose bridge piercing and black grills, while last year there was backlash over North's videos where she sports more piercings and tattoos, though they turned out to be fake.
"So her and her girlfriends, they love doing costumes, they love doing looks, and so it's Halloween season, so they put on like fake tattoos on their face, like fake piercings," the mom-of-four explained in an interview with Complex.
The SKIMS founder has four children with Kanye West.
