Last night at the new Hyatt Regency Times Square, tennis fans, hotel guests and locals got together for “Pickleball with the Pros” a US Open celebration event which featured appearances by top ranked tennis pros and fan favorites including McCartney Kessler (USA), Barbora Krejcikova (Czech Republic), and Danielle Collins (USA). The tennis athletes played pickleball in an exhibition match against each other and then with guests in a life-sized pop-up court in the hotel's porte-cochere.

At the event guests mingled over Pantalones tequila drinks set up at a bar courtside as they cheered on the players, before they took over the courts in Flushing, Queens. Once the matches were done, guests were treated to a reception at Cue 48, the hotel’s restaurant on the second floor, overlooking Times Square. The activation is the second annual for Hyatt Regency Times Square. The hotel is also celebrating the US Open by offering a package that comes with signed tennis balls, among other fun amenities, as part of its programming.

It was 92 degrees outside in Beverly Hills but it proved to be an even hotter night inside the first-ever stand-alone MOTHER flagship in Beverly Hills. Founders Lela Becker and Tim Kaeding hosted an evening for friends, old and new, at the opening of the store they nicknamed The Big Boy.

On Thursday, August 27, Chain, the American Pop Cuisine brand founded by B.J. Novak, kicked off its new six-month residency at Topanga Social inside Westfield Topanga with an after-hours launch party celebrating the return of the mall food court — Chain style.

Throughout the night, guests traveled through Chain nostalgia, exploring the residency’s immersive spaces and sampling the menu before anyone else. Acclaimed chefs Roy Choi, Calvin Eng, Mason Hereford and Mei Lin showed off their original creations, each putting their own spin on the chain restaurant and food-court favorites they grew up loving.
