'Fraught With Difficulty': Prince Harry's 'Certain Demands' Destroyed the Possibility of Meeting With King Charles Again

There were reportedly rounds of "difficult negotiations" held before King Charles III's courtiers let it be known he wouldn't be meeting once again with his son Prince Harry.

"There is some talk that behind the scenes, a lot of negotiating went on," royal expert Charlotte Griffiths shared. "I think the reason was because Harry made certain demands about who could be in the room and who couldn’t."

"Although on the surface it looks like a snub, Harry made it very difficult for his father," she added. The commentator was then asked to clarify "certain demands," and replied that "other forces" had a part in shaping the California Duke's answer, which has apparently been in limbo all this time.

"Maybe other forces were driving Charles’s position on this," she stated. "William may have had a thought about how this meeting should be conducted, or whether it should be conducted at all."

Princes William and Harry will unfortunately not be meeting now that the rebel Duke has arrived in Britain. The estranged brothers were not predicted to have a reunion, which means their "bitter feud" will rage on as William is "doing the utmost" to avoid Harry. Although an insider claimed that Harry "has privately expressed a wish to sit down with his brother," the Prince of Wales feels "now is not the time."

"We know that Charles likes to meet Harry with Camilla in the room, which isn’t always a popular decision," Griffiths observed. "Harry was without his wife as well, so this was fraught with difficulty."

The Montecito Duke's team stated: "In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not the duke will meet with his father while in the U.K. this week, it, unfortunately, will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full program. The duke, of course, is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon."

On the flip side, His Majesty is said to be feeling "very good," as he returns to public-facing royal duties after a series of three-month-long cancer treatments, which are ongoing.

"I think people won’t be surprised to know that he’s completely charming and always calm," Leader of the House of Commons Penny Mourdant told an outlet.

"And he’s also got a really good sense of humor as well," the Lord President of the Privy Council added. "But he’s always asking about how things are going, particularly issues that we’re dealing with in Parliament or about particular groups who he knows are having a rough time. He’s always asking after those people, so he cares a great deal, and he’s a delight to work with."
