Princess Diana Predicted 'Megxit': Iconic Late Royal 'Would Be Devastated' by Prince William and Harry Rift
Diana, Princess of Wales' memory is preserved by her siblings, including Charles, Earl Spencer, who reportedly "sided" recently with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in their ongoing rift with the royals.
"The fact that the Spencers were out in force for Harry on this visit speaks volumes about where their loyalties lie," royal author Tom Quinn shared about Harry's mother's family's appearance with him at an event on May 8. "Like Harry, the Spencers still view the royal family, to some extent, as the adversary."
"The Spencer family have always felt uncomfortable with the royal family after the death of Harry and William's mother," he added. "Earl Spencer, Diana's brother, was openly critical of how the royal family treated his sister, criticism mostly aimed at Prince Charles (as he then was)."
Charles and Diana's marriage was "legendary" in its "controversies" and ended in divorce in August 1996, which was one year before the one-time future queen's tragic death in a Paris car crash. In the succeeding years, her youngest child Prince Harry, rebelled against his position during the early to mid-2000s before landing in the military, which was a success. He met his American actress bride-to-be in 2016 before they married in the spring of 2018.
Her and King Charles' eldest son, the Prince of Wales, flung himself full swing into his destiny as Britain's future monarch, which many royal analysts claim the late princess "also predicted" when comparing her sons.
Diana would likely be "devastated" today at the rift that has developed between her sons thanks to 2020's "Megxit" controversy and the duo's attacks on the Crown her eldest son will one day wear.
"She would have seen this starting, and she would have stopped it," Diana's former butler and confidant, Paul Burrell, told an outlet.
Harry and Meghan's decision to split from the monarchy four years ago still reverberates to this day, thanks to the pair's "damaging Netflix documentary" and Harry's explosive 2023 memoir, Spare. The fiery-haired prince frequently attacked his brother in the tome, which surprised some analysts, who thought he would "destroy the King."

"It broke her heart when that disintegrated," Burrell added. "She would have predicted that once that disintegrated, William and Harry would have had problems of their own and that has come true."
Earl Spencer lashed out at the royal family at his younger sister's "epic funeral" on September 6, 1997, in Westminster Abbey. The nobleman vowed that he, along with his and Diana's sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes, would "protect" William and Harry as their "blood family," which confused their paternal line family — the royals.
In recent years, Harry has been seen visiting the Spencer estate at Althorp House where Diana is buried on a secluded, small island within a pond. He took Meghan with him in 2022 where the Duchess allegedly "asked for guidance" from her deceased mother-in-law.
