'A Nice House Somewhere, I Guarantee!': Princess Kate's Uncle Enthusiastically Addresses Her Whereabouts on Reality Show
Kate, Princess of Wales' uncle Gary Goldsmith joined Celebrity Big Brother, where host AJ Odudu asked him if HRH would be watching the series.
"If she is sitting behind a sofa, yes," the businessman answered before further adding: "It'll be a nice one in a nice house somewhere, I can guarantee that!"
Goldsmith makes his appearance as the Princess of Wales continues to recover from a "serious" abdominal surgery she received on January 16. The future queen was spotted in a car with her mother, Carole Middleton, and is still expected to return to royal duties "after Easter."
His decision to join the series has been called the "most controversial signing ever."
"He is one of those relatives who needs a lot of attention and wants to get some money," royal expert Angela Levin dished. "Even though I believe he is a millionaire, he would like to make money out of it, and I think that's a shame," she added. "The thing is, he probably thinks he can control whatever he says and become famous. But in actual fact, with the cameras running all the time, you can easily slip and say something completely inappropriate."
Levin continued: "It will get people watching. I think it's the wrong thing to do, particularly at the wrong time. He should have said, 'Look, I'm sorry, I don't want any questions about my niece, and I won't be coming on the show.'"
Whereas some analysts see Goldsmith's joining the show as controversial, others pointed out how network executives are excited about him.
"The CBB team loves him because of his link to Kate and the fact that he’s confident and loud and won’t hold back," a source spilled. "He’s made it clear he will talk about everything and anything, and he’s pretty outspoken when it comes to Harry and Meghan."
They continued: "Gary also holds a deep affection for Kate and Wills and will be able to give a fascinating insight into what it’s really like being related to the future King and Queen. He could be TV gold and ITV knows it. The deal he signed is for good money."

When you have people going off-piste, which is exactly what Harry and Meghan have done, and we see all the destruction that has caused," Cohen added. "He appears not to be supportive of Harry and Meghan, and I think there’s a danger in that."
"I think it's cringe-making, very embarrassing, the trouble is he doesn't like Harry and Meghan at all, some of these comments will fall onto Catherine and she's had a lot against her, she's not well, she's in hospital," Levin added.
GBN reported on Goldsmith's comments.
