Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating her first New Year's without her late husband Prince Phillip.
The Duke of Edinburgh — who died at the age of 99 — passed away peacefully in April as a result of old age.
Now, the 95-year-old monarch is ringing in the new year without her longtime husband by her side for the first time since they were married.
According to a report from People, The Queen will "be missing his companionship deeply," throughout the holiday season, "But she is a stoic person."
She also just celebrated her first Christmas without her beloved husband of 73 years, which OK! previously reported was "a bit of a struggle," especially after having to cancel the royal family's annual pre-Christmas bash at Sandringham due to the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
"Not being able to spend it with her whole family [didn’t help]," a source stated at the time, while adding that "she's not one to wallow in self-pity and kept her chin up."

Luckily, she wasn't completely alone for the Christmas holiday, as her son Prince Charles and his wife Camilla Parker Bowles were able to spend the day with her.
The Queen's son-in-law Sir Timothy Laurence tested positive for COVID-19 at the time, causing him and his daughter Princess Anne to miss out on the festive holiday.
Her majesty also reportedly got a call from Prince William to send holiday greetings since they couldn't be together in person, which the source claimed "brightened up her day."
"Obviously the Cambridges were disappointed not to be spending the day with the Queen, but thanks to modern technology, they video called her first thing in the morning to wish her a Merry Christmas," the insider added. "And the kids excitedly told their great-grandmother about their gifts."
Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, celebrated the day by watching holiday movies and playing board games with their three children: Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6 and Prince Louis, 3.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stayed cozied up at their home in California with their son Archie, 2, and 6-month-old daughter, Lilibet.
