Rule Like Queen Amidala

Throughout the entire Star Wars franchise, arguably no makeup moment is more iconic than the dramatic, royalty-inspired look Natalie Portman's Padmé Amidala sports in 1999's Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. While you could channel your inner queen by rocking a rich red lip — Yves Saint Laurent's Rouge Pur Couture Satin Lipstick in the shade Lost in Marais is a pretty spot-on match to Amidala's signature red — there are other ways to pay homage to her royal character.

In Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, we see a paired-down version of Amidala with a much more natural look. While she frequently wears a subtle pink lip color, she also dons a stunning muted red at several points throughout the movie. The exact product makeup artist Leslie Vanderwalt told CNN she used on Portman has been discontinued for quite some time — a Stila lipstick very coincidentally named "Natalie" — however, another light, brick-colored lip tint should do the trick. Benefit Cosmetics' Benetint Rose Lip Blush & Cheek Tint can add an understated yet regal touch to your Star Wars Day look.

Glow Like Rey

Want to make your glam routine fit for a Jedi? Look no further than Rey for some galactic inspiration. Throughout the most recent Star Wars trilogy, Ridley's character kept it simple when it came to makeup — since she was a little busy saving the galaxy — wearing an understated yet glowy look complete with a subtle nude lip, full, natural brows and flawless skin.

According to Amanda Knight, who served as head of the makeup department on Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the secret to Ridley's perfected complexion was the result of two notably soft and buildable products – Tom Ford's Traceless Foundation and By Terry Brightening's CC Lumi-Serum in the shade Sunny Flash. "It's very sheer, so it gives you a real sun-kissed look and the tiniest amount of contour," Knight told Allure of the combination back in 2015.
