Instead, we’re talking about the increased popularity of Japanese green tea, particularly matcha. Famous for its role in the Japanese tea ceremony, matcha powder has been the go-to stressbuster for Buddhist monks searching for satori.

CBD Matcha Tea Iced Latte Recipe
Since matcha is often touted for its health benefits, many people are surprised to learn a cup of this tea has quite a bit of caffeine. In fact, a recent report found that a glass of matcha tea has just as much caffeine as a shot of espresso!
So, why do people feel so “zen” after drinking this green beverage? The answer lies in an amino acid called L-theanine. This unique compound seems to help balance out the tea’s caffeine, so you don’t feel a sudden surge of energy.

• 12 oz milk
