Fit for a Queen? Young Royals' Nickname for Camilla and the Comically Cringe Reaction It Received
Queen Camilla is surrounded by both grandchildren and step-grandchildren stemming from her marriage to Andrew Parker-Bowles, and later, King Charles III. A charming report from 2016 recently resurfaced which shared how the then-Duchess of Cornwall was nicknamed "Gaga" by one of the young royals!
The name is apparently a reference to none other than Lady Gaga, whom the future queen met at the Royal Variety Performance in December of that year. Upon meeting the "Paparazzi" singer, HRH told her: "My own grandchildren call me Gaga. I don’t know if it’s because they think I am! It is funny but is still very sweet."
Although any sort of resemblance between the future queen and the provocative pop star is enough to make anyone scratch their heads, the nickname is certainly adorable!
The report further revealed that it is not known specifically which grandchild or step-grandchild gave her the name, it is believed Prince George is the culprit. Princess Charlotte was nearing the age of two at the time, and Princes Louis and Archie, along with Princess Lilibet Diana were not yet born. Some reports claim she could have very well been referring to one of her grandchildren and not the royals.
This smile-inducing resurfaced story comes amid reports praising the Queen for how she is succeeding in her role as the consort to the King.
"I think she might have surprised herself by enjoying hard work as much as she seems to be doing!" former royal correspondent Jennie Bond exclaimed.
She is, after all, a woman who has never had to commit to a solid career or the grind of a 9 to 5 job," she added. "She has taken on a significantly increased workload and a huge amount of responsibility in the past few months, and is looking and sounding great on it!"
The former Camilla Shand always moved in aristocratic, and eventually, royal circles beginning in the 1960s. She first met the then-Prince Charles in 1970 and a royal romance for the ages began. Her Majesty's love for her King has always been highlighted, with Bond adding: "I think part of it is because she so much wants the man she loves to be proud of her, and to pull her weight in their partnership."

Although Their Majesties enjoy widespread support in their roles as the two most important people in Britain, the shadow of His Majesty's first wife, Diana, Princess of Wales, whom he had two children with, Princes William and Harry, still lingers for many people.
Apart from "legendary drama," the Queen is proving that "she is dedicated to a lifetime of service in her role as consort."
"These days I think Camilla is looking sleeker, smarter, and more stylish than ever and she has grown immeasurably in confidence," Bond concluded.
