Tune In If: You wish The Fault In Our Stars was its own genre. Because now it kind of is.
What’s It About?: A group of kids who are friends… that also happen to be in the pediatric ward at a hospital.
Watch It With: A box of tissues, although you will find yourself charmed and smiling in between the tears.

Tune In If: You like The Good Wife but with more government stuff.
What’s It About?: A former CIA analyst (Tea Leoni) leaves the company, is having a normal life, is recruited to come back as Secretary of State. Also Christina Hendricks’ husband (Geoffrey Arend) who you know from always piping up when he's on the red carpet with her is also in this show.
Watch It With: Your mom, this show will be right up her alley.
Watch Live, DVR or Skip: DVR. This show has potential to be one you get totally hooked on, but maybe not so much that you’re running home to watch it live.
Gotham: Premieres Monday, September 22, 2014 at 8 p.m. ET on FOX
Tune In If: Your favorite movie is The Dark Knight and your favorite TV show is The O.C.. Is that anyone?
What’s It About?: It’s about Batman’s world, but without the Batman part. The show chronicles detective Jim Gordon’s (Ben McKenzie) rise to becoming the police commissioner of Gotham. But don’t worry: we’ll still get to see fun villains like Penguin on the show.
Watch It With: Your significant other, your nerdy sibling, or your best friend in hopes for a Ben McKenzie in a tank top moment you can cherish together.
Watch Live, DVR or Skip: Watch live. Twitter will be talking about this one.
Scorpion: Premieres Monday, September 22, 2014 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS

Watch Live, DVR or Skip: DVR, but watch later that night.
NCIS: New Orleans: Premieres Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS

What’s It About?: Everything you need to know about this show is right there in the title. Plus, Scott Bakula.
Watch It With: You know your parents will love this one.

What’s It About?: A medical examiner (played by Ioan Gruffudd) who studies the dead and surprise! Is secretly immortal himself.
Watch It With: Your aunt. She will probably write on your Facebook wall the next day asking if you caught last night’s episode.

What’s It About?: Voila Davis is a lawyer and professor of a college criminal law class. In the first episode, one of her students breathlessly declares, “I want to be her” and that’s exactly how you’ll feel watching her. It’s kind of a sexier, darker, snarkier, more serious version of Legally Blonde if there were no one Elle Woods in the picture.
Watch It With: A glass of wine.
Watch Live, DVR or Skip: Watch live. If this show turns out to be even a fraction of what Scandal has become, we’ll be glued to the screen for every single second.
Selfie: Premieres Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC

Watch It With: Your friends who can make even the worst date seem maybe a little bit ok.
Watch Live, DVR or Skip: Skip. Early reviews are suggesting it might not be around too long.
Stalker: Premieres Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 10 p.m. ET on CBS
Tune In If: You love Scream, Swimfan, and taking online stalking to a level way beyond creeping on an ex’s Facebook page.
What’s It About?: Well, this show looks terrifying. Even with Dylan McDermott’s hotness, and Maggie Q totally taking charge and kicking butt, the show is about detectives who cover stalking cases in a way that’s just a little too close for comfort.
Watch It With: All the lights on.
Watch Live, DVR or Skip: Skip. This suspense thriller looks just a little too suspenseful and a little too thrilling for it to be fun.

What’s It About?: Yes it’s a superhero, but you don’t have to be a comic book nerd to like this one. The special FX in the show will make you feel like you’re watching one of those fun, blockbuster movies every week, right from your couch.
Watch It With: Your siblings, or anyone who has ever expressed interest in going to Comic-Con
Watch Live, DVR or Skip: Watch live. The fans will be taking to social media for this one, for sure.

Tune In If: You are all about the family sitcom.
What’s It About?: A woman who is pressured by her family to get her life together, but hey, at least she’s got a sense of humor about it! It’s kind of like if The Mindy Project was a sitcom about Mindy’s family life instead of her work life.

Tune In If: You love The Walking Dead and exorcism stuff.
What’s It About?: Based on a DC Comic Book, it’s about people that can see souls out and about in the world and they are not pretty. It’s packed with tons of action, crazy FX, and oh hey there’s a couple of former Lost cast members!
