Get excited, Dancing With the Stars fans! Now that we know who the season 21 pro dancers will be, we’re one step closer to learning who the celebrities are! But, there’s also been some major secrets revealed about the judges and more!
Bye, bye, Len! DWTS executive producer Rob Wade said judge Len Goodman will not return to season 21, but may make cameos. “Len will not be returning as a judge this season on Dancing with the Stars due to his schedule as a judge on Strictly Come Dancing in the UK and the birth of his new grandson. He still might be involved in the season at some capacity, but we will have to wait and see.”
There will be guest judges, though, according to Wade, and one will be Goodman! “We are planning on having great guest judges for some shows to join Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba and Julianne Hough, and I'm sure we will see Len in the ballroom again soon."
Obviously, the world is waiting with baited breath to see which celebrities will compete for the Mirrorball, but it won’t be announced for another few weeks. Alison Holker, who will return as a pro again, said she won’t even find out her own partner until September 1, one day before the scheduled big cast reveal on Good Morning America!
Karina Smirnoff is back! The pro who opted out of season 20 is returning to the dance floor.
Someone who may not be as enthusiastic to be back? Derek Hough! The brother of Julianne, who insisted season 15 would be his “last hurrah,” has stuck around but possibly only because he has to. "I think I’m contracted for one more season legally,” he told Glamour back in May.
The rest of the pros returning? Mark Ballas, Artem Chigvintsev, Allison Holker, Sharna Burgess, Peta Murgatroyd, Witney Carson, and Val Chmerkovskiy.
So far, there’s no word as to whether Kym Johnson, Emma Slater or Keo Motsepe will be back. Johnson is currently a judge on Dancing With the Stars Australia while Slater has been modeling and Motsepe on DWTS Perfect 10 tour.
And what about Julianne Hough now that she’s engaged? She’s definitely slated to return, though we’re excited for the possibility she may talk about wedding planning to her fiancé Brooks Laich.
