The singer posted an Instagram pic of himself watching the Lizzie McGuire holiday episode. “Merry Christmas Lizzie McGuire. #IWantCandy #AaronCarter #Flashback,” he captioned the sweet snap.

The on-again, off-again couple dated for two years before officially calling it off in 2003. Hilary went on to marry – and later separate from – hockey player Mike Comrie.

Soon after Hilary and Mike announced their separation, Aaron tried to win his ex-love back. He tweeted, “Don’t be that stupid douche that loses the love of your life forever.. Like me…” and “I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her.”

Unfortunately for the hopeless romantic, Hilary wasn’t impressed. She told Buzzfeed, "I keep seeing that, that he keeps doing that. I don’t know how I feel. I mean, that was so long ago, and obviously I’m still married, and I have a baby and we kind of just … Yeah, don’t know each other … so … yeah."
